Calibrated Plywood
Calibrated Plywood is the most modern type of plywood that is manufactured using state-of-the-art machines, to impart uniform thickness and evenness, making it the best product for post lamination processes and crafting modular furniture. The top-notch calibration process also gives it a super-smooth surface, making it an industry favorite!
For years, the plywood industry has been using imperfect processes without modern machineries to produce sub-par plywood for the nation. With Calibrated Plywood, we can now produce world class products without having to rely on imports from China, Indonesia, and Russia.
Calibrated plywood is an industry favorite and possesses extra advantages over regular plywood that has prompted people to rapidly shift from normal plywood to calibrated plywood for perfection in modern products.
Primary uses of Calibrated Plywood
• They are best suited to make modular furniture and modular kitchens.
• Calibrated plywood is an excellent candidate for sofas and tables.
• A good option for use as wooden shutters.
• Suitable for wooden flooring.
• Uniform thickness and evenness along with minimal to no warping make calibrated plywood the ideal material to industrial uses as shuttering plywood, BWP Marine Plywood, etc.
Advantages of Calibrated Plywood:
• Uniform thickness to facilitate excellent post-lamination.
• Best material for post-forming furniture and modular kitchens, etc.
• Most suitable type of wood for the kitchen, fire-prone areas, etc.
• Excellent engineering allowing for precision finishing and zero-surface core gap.
• Calibrated Plywood has enabled us to manufacture water-proof, fire-resistant, and flexy-plywood etc.
Manufacturing process:
Afyun continues to dominate the calibrated plywood industry by employing a top of the line, high-end, 4 stage “Hot-Cold” press technology.
• We first employ a cold press on the wood veneers on our premium hydraulic press.
• The second step consists of a hot-press on the cold-pressed veneers.
• This step involves pressing the face veneers to the already pressed veneers using a cold press.
• We then follow up the above steps by a subsequent hot-press with face veneers.
This makes the plywood, truly world-class with minimal core gaps and completely straight.
We then move onto our famed calibration, which includes the most modern sanding machineries, to ensure that each and every Afyun calibrated plywood product that goes into the market is unmatched in thickness and evenness with a super-smooth finish. The final inspection irons out any flaw that is present to give you, our customers, supreme precision.
This unending commitment keeps our calibrated plywood at the very top of the heap, and the love we receive has become a cue for the rest of the industry to ditch lower quality wood and move to truly calibrated plywood.
